The new French-language "Atlas des Migrants en Europe" (Armand Colin,
2012; 143pp, ISBN 9782200249663) has some very interesting maps:

p.24 "La 'libre circulation' dans le monde", colouring in groups of
countries whose citizens have relatively free intraregional travel
rights (e.g. Schengen, Australia & New Zealand, etc.)

p.25 "Toujours plus de murs dans un 'monde sans frontieres'" showing
immigration and other physical barriers between countries (most of which
are in Asia). A striking graph shows the number of such walls and
barriers since 1945, climbing from 1 in 1945-50 to more than 45 today,
almost triple the number after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
p.134 "Des morts par milliers aux portes de l'Europe" using proportional
circles to show location and numbers of deaths of migrants/refugees to
Europe by cause (drowning, asphyxiation, suicide, cold/hunger,
minefield, etc) 1993-2012.
Also information on outlying EU islands/territories (mainly French and
British) around the world, the Spanish African enclaves of Ceuta and
Melilla, and much more.

There are lots of other thought-provoking maps and charts, even
for non-readers of French, covering migration issues worldwide, as well
as more European-focussed.
