What marvelous idea. Jim does excellent drawings so his volunteering is
wonderful. There shouldn't be a copyright problem with Map Woman in
place of Mapgirl. If there is, I would suggest that you use Map Lady.
USGS used to give out large pins with the words Map Lady and Map Man
printed on them.

We have had great luck with Zazzle both having items made as well as
buying already made items. They always list who was responsible for the
drawing. Recently, I purchased several ties from them that were good
quality and cost approx. $35.00. However they had cheaper items
versions. As a side note you should try finding decent looking ties
printed with either cellos or alto saxes!

Most of the things I have ordered through Cafe Press were all fine but
some of the materials and designs were only adequate.

Hopefully you will follow through with this. I have several MAGERT map
t-shirts that were great keepsakes. They frequently were good money makers.

Although I take an extra large size, I would certainly purchase a Map
Woman T-shirt for my collection. Also maybe you could reproduce the
drawing on a postcard and/or print. I definitely would buy a number of
those.

While I am now not active in the Map Librarian and Geography
Associations, I would be happy to provide assistance if it is needed. l
look forward to Jim's drawing(s). Please keep us posted as to the progress.

Jim,

You could upload some of your comics to zazzle or cafepress and people
would buy them.

But, yes, please draw a map woman/man design!

Angie

I'd like to try to come up with Map Man and Woman designs you all would
approve of. OK, designs /most/ of you would approve of.

I had that same thought Holly. Let's make our own shirts - we can post
the art to one of those sites where you can order mugs, posters, shirts ...

Anyone have any artistic abilities? MAGIRT, WAML- is this a fund
raising opportunity for your organizations?

;-)

Angie

The T-shirts would be better if it wasn't grownup Map Man and
diminutive Map Girl.
I am Map Woman, not a side kick.

Hi:

ESRI has really cool t-shirts (especially the Magnificent Mapgirt), they
seem to be only available for the user conferences. I'm not going to
any of the ESRIconferences, but would love to buy one of the t-shirts!

Here's a link to a page with both the Magnificent Mapgirlt-shirt and
the Amazing Mapboyt-shirt and an image below,
