        I received information earlier this week from a reliable source at
        Yale who indicated that an internal announcement was made to defer
        (for at least five years) the recruitment of a Map Curator of the
        Yale Map Collection (formerly held by Barbara McCorkle).
 
        Karin Trainer announced that Fred Musto who has been serving as
        part-time Acting Map Curator will serve as the full-time Map
        Curator beginning June 1, 1995 for a "five-year term."
