Michael:

We used oclc microcon for doing retrospective conversion of our map
collection. We input a derived search key, either for title, author, or
author/title qualified by map and the date, based on our shelflist cards. As
long as there was an exact match, our holdings were automatically added but
if there wasn't, we were sent back exception reports arranged by call number
with a listing of the oclc records that matched (1-10 records). Then we
could go through and see which one matched (if any did), then we also got
exception reports for those that had >10 matches or no matches. Of course,
we did get some false matches in our database and clean them up as we find
them. I determined that we still have about 30% of our map collection to do
retrocon for (those needing original records). If you have any other
questions, let me know.

Chris
