Exactly a month ago today, the library made the decision to relinquish
depository status.  Our status became official as of April 12, 2010.
You will note that our listing has already been removed from the FDLP
Directory.

Right now, we are in the process of compiling our retention list which
will go to our regional for approval.  I am also in the process of
compiling the first lists that will go to our regional for her perusal
and deaccessioning those map series titles that are part of our housing
agreement with our regional.

As you can very well imagine, I have been having a busy month trying to
plan and organize the deaccession of the collection.

Offers lists will be posted continually until we have fully
deaccessioned the collection.   Our offers process will work as follows:

    * Washington State Library (regional depository) will be getting our
      offers list first. They will take 2 - 4 weeks to look through the
      lists to make their requests from us.
    * The offers lists will then be posted to Washington and Alaska
      depositories (the regional oversees WA and AK depositories). They
      will have 4 weeks to look through the lists to make their requests
      from us.
    * Lastly, the lists will be offered to depositories nationally. You
      will have 4 weeks to look through the lists to make your requests
      from us.

I would like to thank you ahead of time for your time and patience as we
go about through this new phase of our library life.
