                                           AND INSTITUTIONS
 
 
   We are pleased to announce the nominations for the Standing
Committee for the Section of Geography and Map Libraries for the
1999-2003 term, from the American Library Association and the Special
Libraries Association.
 
ALA Nominee:  Melissa Lamont, Woods Hole Institute
 
SLA Nominee:  Dr. Christopher Baruth, American Geographical Society
 
Collection
 
Continuing in the 1997-2001 term:
 
ALA:  Patrick McGlamery, University of Connecticut
 
SLA:  Anita Oser, Western Carolina University (Official Observer)
 
Completing the 1995-1999 term:
 
SLA:  David C. McQuillan, University of South Carolina
 
   These nominations will be confirmed and new Section Officers will
be elected at the 1999 Bangkok meeting of the G&M Standing Committee
(SC-I) on Saturday, August 21.  Those elected will begin planning the
2000 Jerusalem meeting at the SC-II meeting on Friday, August 27 in
Bangkok.
