David,
Such a list would be a great project. One such cartographer is Grafton T.
Brown, a cartographer, lithographer and maker of bird's-eye views in San
Francisco and elsewhere. A couple of pages on him appear in Reps' Views and
Viewmakers of Urban America, p. 166-167.

Colleagues -

Well, just when you think you have heard most of the questions the students
return and ask some interesting things. We were just asked if there were a
list of black cartographers and not only am I unaware of such a list but am
unaware of any specific articles that I can think of. And, if not, this
certainly seems like a project that should be taken up and studied? Any
leads or information would be greatly appreciated.
