Wangyal,

This is a good move! As to your question, according to the LC National
MARC21 and OCLC input standards, both the 255 and 034 fields are
mandatory, so yes, you need to populate both of them. I worked with Jay
Weitz a few months ago on updating the examples for both of these fields
in OCLC's Bibliographic Input Standard (and thanks also to Mary
Larsgaard and Susan Moore for assistance!), so you have a visual
reference of the formatting if you need it.
