MAPS-L Subscribers (and Southeastern U.S. residents in particular):
 
SOLINET (Southeastern Library Network - Atlanta, GA) announced in their
Fall 1995 Workshop Schedule a "Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in
Libraries" workshop for Friday, November 17th, 1995, in Knoxville, TN.
The workshop is intended for librarians will little or no experience with
maps, mapping, and GIS.  The morning will be devoted to understanding
the basic technical aspects of cartography in order to better undersatnd
GIS.  The afternoon will be training in and hands-on use of ArcView 2.
Note:  Workshop will be limited to 20 people.
