I'm trying to help a public librarian with a map question from a
patron. He apparently has "parts 4,5,& 9" of a 1938 map of
Oldenburg, Germany and he wants parts 1,2,3,6,7& 8. After talking
further to the librarian, all of the following info appears
somewhere on the parts he has:

     Conti atlas 1938
     AMS ed. 1, sheet 4, 1944
     German road map
     Essen Mannheim sheet

I can find the Conti atlas of 1937 on OCLC, but the librarian
seemed to say that this AMS map was based on the Conti atlas and I
think we really want the AMS sheet or sheets. (She kept referring
to what sounded like an index map to these 9 parts.) I suspect that
even though I can't find the AMS map(s) on OCLC, there are more
copies out there in map land than copies of the Conti atlas. We
gave up our AMS maps long ago, so would someone who still has them
and the indexes please see what they could do for this librarian.
     Thank you very much.
