Here is an example of how ours look: http://libarchive.dartmouth.edu/cdm/compoundobject/collection/hanmaps/id/220 . I believe our Cataloging department defined one of the slots as Scale. I hope that helps.

Hi everyone:



I'm working on a project to upload a set of digitized Forest Service maps that were donated to us a few years ago from one of the local forest service offices. They are unique maps, so we are planning on uploading them to our hosted ContentDM. I'd like to include the scale of the maps as part of the metadata. It doesn't look like there is a separate field in Dublin Core for scale, so I'm wondering how others have handled it. Options seem to be either in the Description field or in the Coverage field.
