MAGERT members have recently noticed the April 2001 issue of "base line"
arriving in their mailboxes.

Highlights of this issue include committee and other reports from the
ALA/MAGERT midwinter meetings; an excellent "Electronic Mapping" column by
Jennifer Stone Muilenburg, including news on ArcView 8.1, 2000 census
electronic maps, and  community information by zip code; new maps
and  books (especially cool books this time); and a table of OCLC numbers
for USGS Geologic Atlases printed around the turn of the 20th century.  In
addition, the MAGERT schedule for the San Francisco June conference is in
base line, although you can always find the most up-to-date-schedule at
http://www.sunysb.edu/libmap/magprogs.htm

If you are not receiving MAGERT and wish to, there are two ways to make
that happen:
1)  Join MAGERT (dues for an ALA member are $15 per year)--more information

2)  Subscribe to "base line" as a non-member of ALA:
ALA nonmember subscription rates are $15, U.S. and Canada; $20 for all
