The U.S. Geological Survey announces the release of its USGS Store, an
on-line catalog of products, January 1, 2004. The USGS Store will provide
on-line access and ordering capability of all published products (maps,
books, general interest publications, etc.) available from the USGS
distribution center in Denver, Colorado. The catalog in on-line at:
http://store.usgs.gov.

The USGS Store provides an improved user-friendly method of communicating
recent news and announcing new or featured products. The latest USGS
published map of Mars is a featured product on the store. Additional
images of maps and posters with expanded descriptions are being added
constantly. Be sure to check out the specialty products of earthquakes,
geology, water, historical, planetary and much more.

Ordering options enable users to charge to a credit card, an account or
project number. The site also enables customers to check their order
status and receive email confirmations.
