Has anyone encountered the codes for PLACEFP in the STFs? I have
a user who has a list of three, four, and five digit numbers that
are the Place (FIPS) for San Francisco, and wants to know their
geographic location. In the hierarchy of geographical levels the
Place (FIPS) falls after County Subdivision (FIPS) and before
Census Tract/BNAs. I assume this is buried somewhere in the
TIGER files. Is there an easy way of mapping this or accessing
it in some other way? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
