*Call for Poster Proposals: Association of College & Research Libraires
Science and Technology Section (ACRL-STS), ALA Annual Conference,
Anaheim, CA, 2008. *The ACRL STS Research Committee and STS Program
Planning Committee invite proposals for posters to be exhibited during
the STS program reception at the ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim.
Posters will be displayed from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1,
2008, immediately following the STS Program, which starts at 8:30 a.m.

*Be part of our program of the Science and Technology Section of ACRL
and submit your ideas by January 7, 2008. *

We encourage proposals for posters relating to the following program theme:

*/“One part inspiration: Creative trends that further science learning” /*

*/ /*

/Social and cultural changes resulting from new technology continue to
have an exciting impact on libraries as well as the scientific
community. Why do some ventures into cyberspace find an immediate and
extensive audience, and how can we apply their playful aspects to
encourage learning? This program will combine a theoretical look at
phenomena such as gaming and Web 2.0 with the whimsical viewpoint of
those who are actually creating and applying the "Next Media." /

Therefore, posters should address the creative use of technology in
science librarianship. Wireless access to the Internet will be
available, so posters may include online demonstrations.

The STS Research Committee will select posters for the Anaheim session
through a blind review process on the basis of timeliness,
thoughtfulness, and relevance to sci/tech librarianship.

*DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION*: *Monday, January 7, 2008. *Review of
submissions will begin immediately.

A brief description of the poster (250 words or less) should be
submitted via e-mail to Janice Jaguszewski, Co-Chair of the STS Research
Committee, [log in to unmask] Be sure to include your name, institution,
phone, fax, e-mail address, and poster title.
