It seems to be part of sheet 18 of the 1:5,000,000 Western Hemisphere
Strategic Planning Maps produced by the AMS. Series 1130. OCLC number
13318703.

Hi Angie,
Someone has emailed a portion of a map he is trying to identify. I
checked the AGSL 1:1M & 1:5M sets, but it doesn't match up. I also looked
at various maps of S. America & the world with no luck. Would it be
possible to post his question to MAPS-L, maybe someone will recognize
it. Or maybe you know what it's from! The scale & the box are NOT part
of the original map, he drew those in himself. It somehow looks
familiar, but I couldn't find it.

I am writing now in the hope that you or your colleagues may be able to
help me resolve a problem with another map which I am anxious to use in
the same publication, which I now attach.
I acquired this map some 30 or more years ago, but I have no record
of where it came from. I suspect it is part of a map of the north of
South America, and was printed before Guyana became independent in 1966
   - whilst it was still British Guiana. Please ignore the red square and
the scale which I have superimposed.

I am concerned about the copyright so need to find out where it was
published. Any suggestions you might have as to its origins would be
very much appreciated.

Yours sincerely

Robin Colson
