The jacket on the hardcover version is unusual too. It unfolds into
a full-size map of england's geology. Not the eight foot size of the
original, but still quite nice. I've only just started it myself,
but if it's as good as his previous ("The Professor and the Madman",
the story of the creation of the Oxford English Dictionary), it
should be a good read.
