Look in the back of the National Geography 2009 Road Atlas (which I
discovered about a month ago and love because it's spiral bound so
doesn't get so raggedy as a RMcN Road Atlas does).  Their time/distance
diagram of major roads for the US is much more readable than the
equivalent in the RMcN Road Atlas.  It also has the advantage that the
links are color coded as to whether they are Interstates or "other
highways" (just in case you don't want to always be driving 65+ miles
per hour or you like to see what you're passing through).
