This morning I telephoned the specialist firm (in modern globes) 'Globes UK'
in Canterbury, Kent; Tony Luckham (Sales Manager) surprized me somewhat in
saying that they do not carry such 'DIY' globe kits; or, rather, only a few
for the retail trade.  For other 'normal' globe enquiries the e-mail address

Tony Luckham asked, why did I not try Greaves and Thomas?!  (Which, of
course, I was going to do second, as they specialize more in 'antique'
globes).  There are several kits available from Greaves and Thomas, see
