Subject: 1:100K quads USGS vs. BLM
Sender: Mark Thomas <[log in to unmask]>

Summary: Are all 1:100K quads now available in normal USGS
topgraphic editions?

Detail:

The most recent paper "Index to Intermediate-Scale Mapping" that
we have is April 1, 1995. There are about 27 1:100,000 quads
out west that are shown as having a BLM edition available
(Surface or Surface-Minerals Mgt) but not a published USGS
edition (maybe just an "advance copy" or a map in progress).

We don't have any of these 27 quads with our USGS 1:100K topos.
We have just a few of them with our BLM quads (but haven't
consistently selected these over the years).

1. Are final USGS published editions now available? The online
map lists show these available as any other quad (with "T"
stock numbers, indicating topo quads), with no qualifications,
but the version and currentness dates for some are from the 70s
or early 80s, far before the date of our index that shows them
as not available in a published edition.

2. If I ordered these maps with a "T" stock number, would I get
one of the advance copies? Are these the the blueline editions
that I've seen before? Or, are they "provisional" with lots of
hand-drawn lettering, but otherwise fairly normal?

3. Or, would I be sent a BLM edition? (which might be OK if it's
one that I don't have yet, but I'd like to know ahead of time)

4. Is there a more recent graphic for 1:100K maps online? I
couldn't find one.

Example quads:
AZ: Dateland, Bagdad, Nutrioso, Prescott

If these were finally published in USGS editions, perhaps they
slipped through the depository system????

thanks,
        Mark
