[apologies for cross-postings]

Apparently we were overly optimistic with an August 16 registration
deadline for the WAML meeting in Seattle next month. You all must be in
the midst of wonderfully busy (and we hope relaxing!) summers.

Since today is August 16 and we have a very small number of registrations
in hand, we are extending the registration deadline to August 30.

Conference information is provided below for your convenience.

---------- Forwarded message ----------

Your cohosts for the Sept meeting of the Western Association of Map
Libraries (WAML), Mary Douglass, Seattle Public Library and Anne Zald,
University of Washington invite you to register before August 16. The
meeting will be held Sept 15-18, 2004 in the stunning new downtown Central
Library of the Seattle Public Library which opened on May 23, 2004 to rave
reviews (for a selection of press coverage, see:
http://www.spl.org/default.asp?pageID=branch_central_mediaprofiles&branchID=1)
The meeting will migrate to the University of Washington campus for the
afternoon sessions on Fri Sept 17.

We've arranged for very affordable accomodations at the historic Panama
Hotel in Seattle's International District (make your reservations before
August 18 for the best rate!). The program includes a varied selection of
topics and speakers. The banquet and field trip will feature the natural
beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

When making your travel plans, consider staying over Saturday night Sept
18 so you can take part in that day's field trip to the Mt St Helens
National Volcanic Monument (which will last a MINIMUM of 12 hours). We
can only accomodate 30 people on this trip, so register early!

Registration forms will go in the mail to WAML members this week.
Registration forms are also available to download/print from the meeting
website http://www.lib.washington.edu/maps/waml/

You can also get to this website from from the WAML page:
