LIBRARIAN POSITION AVAILABLE
AT THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA
NATIONAL WEATHER CENTER

The National Weather Center (NWC) Library provides a resource for collaboration in research, scholarly work, and educational activities by providing information, preservation, access, metrics, and citation services for research,
technology, educational, and historical materials.   The NWC Library serves
NOAA researchers and staff located in the NWC as well as faculty, researchers, students and staff in the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences at the University of Oklahoma.  The current library collection includes books, monographs, journals, online resources, climatological data, technical memoranda, slides, videos and microforms.  The person who serves as the NWC Librarian will be challenged with reframing the NWC Library and corresponding information services to become an interlinked module in a network of advanced library and information science services (to be developed) in the OU Research Park.  The desire is for the library to move from a collection-centric focus to a user-centric model emphasizing access to digital resources and data services, which are underpinned by three key strategic components: research support, data support, and education support.
