Today's Arizona Republic (8/24/98) has a front page article by William
Hermann about Arizona's Dept of Transportation not publishing an updated
highway map since 1994.

Hermann quotes Nina LaFrance, publisher of Arizona Highways magazine as
saying "The Department of Transportation can't help us with information
like they used to, since they don't do maps anymore. We're trying to figure
out what the approach should be to get a new map quickly on the market, but
it's not easy because revising a map is a very complex operation."

The article is titled, "State map seems to have lost its way; Official
guide goes 4 years without update."
