*Richard W. Stephenson* died September 25, 2013 at age 82.  He was a
very long time employee at the Library of Congress and recognized as an
expert in American Cartographic History and American Civil War Mapping.
He was a member and leader of many map and discoveries groups, including
the Washington Map Society, Texas Map Society, and Society for the
History of Discoveries.
