A heads-up for our ALA guests coming to Chicago: there will be roughly
500,000 to two million extra visitors in downtown Chicago Friday. Some
alcohol may be involved. Details below.

All of this will occur well north of McPlace, so it shouldn't interrupt
things in the immediate area of the conference site too much, but everyone
should plan extra time to get around, especially if you're in a hotel north
of about Madison or Washington.

Metra is a good option if you can get to Van Buren & Michigan in one piece.
They will be selling a $5 all-day pass for Friday, and they sell a $7
weekend pass good on Saturday/Sunday. And, unlike the el, it stops directly
at McPlace.
