Subject: Hunt-Lenox globe on display
Sender: ahudson <[log in to unmask]>

The Hunt-Lenox globe, ca. 1510, is once again on display at NYPL for
the edification of NY metro area mapsters. The globe is "among the
earliest representations of the Americas..." according to the label
text, written by Special Collections staff. The globe is accompanied
by the Gutenberg Bible, well, NYPL's copy...

These are in Room 316, the Salomon Gallery, for a temporary stay. Will
let you know end date when I can ferret that out. The Special
Collections staff put these out on display with no notice to staff or
public, as far as I know, so I apologize for lack of info. here.
