Subject: WHAT ARE THE LARGEST UNIVERSITY MAP COLLECTIONS IN THE U.S.?
Sender: "Youngblood, Dawn" <[log in to unmask]>

Dear Maps-L Colleagues:

I was wondering if there exists a list somewhere of map libraries by size of holdings. If not, please respond if your collection holds more than 250,000 maps, and I will try to put together such a list. This is the approximate number held by the University of Texas at Austin, as a starting place. Princeton claims more than 300,000 on their web site. Others??? I am particularly interested in university libraries; I realize the Library of Congress and the New York Public probably has us all beat. So, If you have a list, or more than 250,000 maps, please send in your numbers!!!! Thanks.
