The Treasures of the Map Room
Arthur Lakes Library, Colorado School of Mines
Tuesday, June 10, 2008, 6:30pm - 8:30pm

The Map Room has over 209,000 maps.  The jewels of the collection are
the over 1,200 unique, mostly hand-drawn maps.  The majority of the
collection covers Colorado and the Intermountain West and pertains to
gold or silver.

There will be a tour of the Map Room and a show-and-tell featuring
some of the more unique items.  Everyone will be welcome to explore
the collection and examine the maps.

Soft drinks and bottled water will be served.

From US 6:
        Turn EAST on to 19th Street.
        Proceed down the hill to the first light, Illinois.
        Turn LEFT.  The Library is on the SW corner of 14th and
Illinois.

From C-59:
        Get off at the Washington St. exit.
        Go SOUTH.  Proceed through downtown
        Turn RIGHT on 14th Street.
                Go up the hill until 14th ends at Illinois.
        The Library is on the SW corner of 14th and Illinois.

Park on the street anywhere that it is legal, OR use the parking lot
on the north side of the library, but you must go around the block to
access it.

The Library will close at 6pm and reopen exclusively for the Rocky
Mountain Map Society at 6:25pm.
