Dear all,

The publication of the printed version of our "Akzessionsliste" ceased
with vol. 118/2003 because we had to look for more efficient methods to
use the data already available in the common library network (GBV). We
were looking for a solution which would compile automatically the titles
already existing in the data base and which would provide a systematic
allowing a quick search for new maps and atlases. The result can be
found under the following address:

http://karten.staatsbibliothek-berlin.de/de/neuerwerbungen/systematik.html

While reorganizing we emphasized the regional aspect. Therefore you will
find in the systematic a simple structure repeating itself organized by
continents subdivided into the aspects whole area, greater
border-crossing areas, countries and their regions and towns. That
simplifies a specific search for new publications about a certain area.

Space maps and antiquarian are indicated separately as well as
cartographic literature which is subdivided into three groups:
cartography in general, literature concerning geographic information
systems and electronic maps and history of cartography. The new titles
are arranged by quarters and cumulated during the year. In addition we
are working on an issue in PDF-format as further aid.

We hope our new service meets your requirements. Should you have
questions or suggestions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best wishes

Wolfgang Crom
