The Cartographic Users Advisory Committee (CUAC) will be meeting with in
10 days in Washington DC with representatives of federal government
agencies that produce and/or distribute maps Last year Robin Haun-Mohamed
of GPO posed questions to CUAC. We answered her at the time, but would
like to redress the questions using your input. Your responses will be
compiled and presented at the CUAC meeting. We feel this information will
help us demonstrate to Robin the map community's support and
justification of the depository program. The more information we can
provide the better. Would you PLEASE make time to answer the questions
and return to me via email by April 12, 2001.

With appreciation and thanking you in advance,

 Questions:
1) What is the impact on libraries when mapping is online?
2) How do we use online spatial/cartographic data?
3) Do we download things, save things, archive them, or
do we go back to the original source material each
        time?
4) Do we handle electronic map needs in the library or do
we send our users someplace else?
5) Do we use the airport charts, obstruction charts,
        approach charts,etc.?
6) What will be the impact if the USGS Open File Reports
        go online only?
