It is true that GPO catalogers create a record for every large scale
topographic map, but Marcive does give you the option to get just the "Mother"
record or set record for each state's large scale topographic maps.
 
But you need to be sure that your library fills out the Marcive profile
correctly so you get just the "Mother" record.
