Gilbert Bland was the "posterboy" (i.e. thief) that was the subject of
Miles Harvey's "The Island of Lost Maps."

>>> Dear Friends,
>>>
>>> It appears Gilbert Bland is stealing maps again.
>>>
>>> There is someone based in Maryland who is moving covertly about the
>>> east coast selling relatively low end maps from government
>>> publications via email under the name scframers. A dealer in
>>> Colorado got suspicious and did some background checking and has
>>> concluded that it is almost certainly Gil Bland. He is masked

>>> 1. Same type of material--primarly low priced government report
>>> type material, but periodically better material.
>>> 2. Working the east coast, but based in Maryland
>>> 3. Also pursuing Scripophily (hope I spelled that right!).
>>> 4. Mail order type operation.
>>> 5. At least one deep search caused an even more direct connection
>>> to Bland's prior business name.
>>>
>>> Not sure what the best approach is to tracking this down, but he's
>>> using the mail, shipping interstate, so its a Federal offense.
