And when you try to change the route (for example, not stopping in
Hawaii), it won't let you. Also being originally from the Seattle area,
I was a little aghast that the directions went from Seattle to the
Pacific without anything about going through the Puget Sound for through
the Straits of Juan de Fuca! :)

I tried getting directions for several Pacific islands (Tahiti springs
to mind, as I watch the snow fall outside my office -- but hey, we have
a _positive_ temp today, so why am I complaining?). I even tried just
the first leg of the Japan trip, from "USA" to "Hilo, HI". Every other
trip I tried got the message, "We could not calculate directions between
*United States* and [destination]." So, yes, I think someone at Google
is having a little fun.

This went around Facebook the other day. I found myself wondering if
someone at Google wasn't having some fun, rather than it being a
legitimate goof (or fail as they say nowadays)

I'm too tired from snow shoveling to post anything serious today. Hope
      you all don't mind ...
