I like the map cradle! CU Boulder and UC Santa Cruz, use a warehouse
cart for moving maps around, rather than a book cart, similar to these
ones: http://vistamation.com/products/carts/polypropylene-service-carts/
Just make sure you get one of the wider ones.

Hi Larry,
I'm attaching two photos that might help you out with your book cart
question. The map "cradle" pictured was fabricated before I started
working here and it was based on a similar cart from the Library of
Michigan. I don't know if I'd want to move a whole map collection using
the cradle, but it is very useful moving smaller amounts of maps around
our library. I'd be happy to send higher quality pictures and
measurements if you or anybody else on list is interested.
