Free Data Contribution:
I made the entire New Jersey State USGS 7.5 minutes Digital Elevation
Models data available over the Internet for downloading through our
Center's web page http://www.princeton.edu/~geolib/gis . These DEM data
were downloaded from the USGS web site
http://edcwww.cr.usgs.gov/doc/edchome/ndcdb/7_min_dem/states/NJ.html.
Originally the data were in SDTS (Spatial Data Transfer Standard) format,
but I converted them into USGS DEM file format so that people can download
and use them right away with many of the GIS software packages including
ArcView with Spatial Analyst extension.
 
I created and indexed a few metadata for this data and made them searchable
through FGDC Clearinghouse Node.
 
Request:
I am making hyperlinks to various free spatial data centers from our site.
So far I have managed to link a few libraries and centers. My goal is to
link at least one spatial data center for each state - if possible, I
wanted to create links to free spatial data centers outside the United
States. I would like to request that those libraries or state agencies (if
they are not linked to our page
http://www.princeton.edu/~geolib/gis/internet.html) to share their URL's
with me so that I can make them visible to our part of the world. I do not
want to reinvent the wheel.
