Dear Charles,

You might like to have a look at the Bartholomew World Gazetteer. This
contains some 260 000 places in the form of a text and MS Access
file. For each place you get a map name, index name, alternative (e.g.
common English usage), lat and long, province, country, height (if
a mountain) and pop (where known for towns, countries and provinces).

Further details are on our web site at www.bartholomewmaps.com. See
the section on Bartholomew Services and Digital Data.

regards
