Dear lis-mappers,

There was an announcement yesterday in the press and on the [BBC Radio 4
– for those who wish to follow it up. FH] Today programme that the
Aerial Reconnaisance Archives (Tara) is online. Initially there are
about 4,000 images online with more to be added.

Those who came to the Map Curators' Workshop last September had a
technical visit to Tara which is now housed in the National Collection
of Aerial Photographs (NCAP), part of the Royal Commission on the
Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland.

The archive can be viewed at http://aerial.rcahms.gov.uk/
