Charlie Seavey is completely right about the access situation.  So let us
define two major mistakes occurring due to assumptions CS and techie people
make.  1. That people know what they are looking for and how to find it, and
2. that people, either on their own or through libraries, have access.
 
This is one message which MUST be taken to the later October meeting.  How
will the right of access to information be preserved, particularly in places
where electronic access isn't available, regardless of the reason for that
lack of access.
 
It is due partly to the reluctance of some to get access, but more often is
due to factors beyond the control of the individuals.   It seems with
electronic formats, technology hides, rather than illuminates, information.
And I suggest this from the perspective of a quasi-techie.
