The USGS has a program called Landslide Hazard Reduction. I found it
easiest to access some of this work through the personnel site
http://landslides.usgs.gov/people.php. The names of the researchers are
there and their projects (with links to maps and posters) are described
briefly. There is also a fellow named Jerry Bartholomew at the
University of Memphis http://cas.memphis.edu/DES/t_bartholomew.htm who
has an interest in landslides.
