Angie,

I think this is a very appropriate request, that the requestor be kind
enough to send out a message notifying everyone that their need has been
met, or even partially so (and in that case it gives them the
opportunity to re-request the item of information/item itself still
needed). You are also correct in stating that there are times when the
requestor or the individual filling the request may wish or need to
remain anonymous for a variety of reasons, and that should be respected.
Just my two cents' worth....
