JOB DESCRIPTION:
 
Bechtel, a leader in engineering and construction has an immediate
opening for a GIS Specialist, to be based in Lima, Peru, on a world-class
pipeline construction job, from Lima across the Andes. The assignment is
for 5 months, with extension to 5 years pending full project approval in April.
 
Responsibilities will include setting up a PC-based GIS for the
pipeline project; providing access to the GIS through the
Intranet/Internet for different locations; addressing security issues;
integrating GIS software with other software including CAD and SCADA;
developing GIS analytical procedures; populating the database; performing
GIS analysis; creating interfaces; advising on GPS and field input to GIS.
 
Requires an MS or equivalent and at least 3 years' hands-on experience.
You should have experience in ARC/INFO, ArcView and the ESRI family of
products, and in setting up and integrating GIS systems. Experience
with GPS, AutoCAD, PhotoShop. Spanish language skills a plus.
 
You should also have excellent communication skills and the ability to
work independently in a high-energy environment. Salary will be based on
experience. Must be available to start work immediately.
