Subject: Headings for Government-Designated Parks and Forests

CPSO is proposing a significant change in practice regarding the
establishment of name and subject headings for government-designated
parks and forests, such as national parks, state forests, etc. Details
of the proposed change are available on the Web at

         <http://www.loc.gov/catdir/cpso/parks.html>

All are encouraged to review this proposal and send any comments you may
have to the CPSO email account ([log in to unmask]).

The proposal is also posted on the CPSO public Web site, and will be
published in the next issue of both Cataloging Service Bulletin and LC
Cataloging Newsline. A notice will also be posted on Autocat shortly.

The deadline for comments on this proposal is Dec. 31, 2004.
