For those of you who catalog on OCLC and are not subscribed to OCLC-Cat,
please see the attached announcement concerning a new version of client
that my colleague David Whitehair posted yesterday. Please note that if
you are using client 1.20 you will have to upgrade to 1.30 by June 1.
My apologies for any duplication.

------------------------------
Connexion client version 1.30 is now available! This new version
includes WorldCat searching enhancements, support for cataloging with
the Arabic and CJK scripts, a Spanish interface, plus a lot more! See
http://www.oclc.org/connexion/interface/client/enhancements/recent.htm
for more information on the enhancements and to download the software.

The WorldCat searching enhancements include "true" keyword searching
using words and phrases and Boolean operators. You can search over 90
indexes, and you can browse over 50 indexes!!! We HIGHLY recommend that
you complete the Searching WorldCat tutorial available from
http://www.oclc.org/support/training/connexion/client/tutorial/ prior to
installing Connexion client 1.30. Also, please review the searching
WorldCat booklet under Cataloging on the Connexion client documentation
Web site at http://www.oclc.org/support/documentation/connexion/client/.

Are you migrating from Passport, CatME, CJK, or Arabic? If yes, you will
want to review the information on the migration site at
http://www.oclc.org/connexion/migrating/ to learn more about the
features in Connexion that were not available in the previous software.
Even if you have already migrated, you might still want to review this
site to learn about features you might have missed!

Current client 1.20 users -- If upgrading your version of the client,
please refer to the "Update the Connexion Client" section of the Getting
Started document at
http://www.oclc.org/support/documentation/connexion/client/gettingstarted/#update_client.fm

<http://www.oclc.org/support/documentation/connexion/client/gettingstarted/>

for important upgrading information. You must upgrade prior to June 1,
2005. Connexion client 1.20 will no longer work after this date.

Thanks,
David
