The current Head of the Geography and Map Library at Indiana University
wants to file all the National Geographic Society folded maps together.
She is proposing a classed together series. All the maps have one call
number with a separate catalog record for each map. The problem is that
there is no series statement for the entire set and there is no overall
numbering system. We would have to make a local series name and numbering
system. Has anyone else tried to file all the National Geographic maps
together with individual catalog records? Does anyone have any ideas on
this? Thanks.
