LPS has asked that the following information be posted:
 
On March 16, 1994, Headquarters, Defense Mapping Agency provided LPS
with the following information:  "DMA's inventory levels for the
Digital Chart of the World have decreased to the point that
distribution to the depository libraries must be deferred until the
next edition is available in January 1995.  Funding additional
production was considered, but determined to be fiscally imprudent for
a soon-to-be-superseded product."  However, DMA has agreed to provide
each regional library with a copy of the Digital Chart of the World
and the product will be distributed by LPS on an upcoming Shipping
list.
