Hello,

If you pay attention to the TV news feeds on the bottom of the screen on CNN, you may have noticed the above headline. You can read the full story at: http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2010/05/18/noaa-says-many-maps-key-to-oil-cleanup-are-outdated/?iref=allsearch

To make a long story short, "Many of the maps that the federal government depends on to determine which coastal resources are at risk in the event of a nearby oil spill are outdated, the administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said Tuesday."

The full text of the testimony is at: http://www.legislative.noaa.gov/Testimony/Lubchenco051810.pdf

If you want to watch the full hearing, it is on C-SPAN: http://www.c-span.org/Watch/Media/2010/05/18/HP/A/33076/Senate+Commerce+Cmte+Hearing+on+Gulf+Coast+Oil+Spill.aspx
