I'm doing research on 19th-century bird's eye view artist John Bachmann.
I've found in my research that he (as Johann Bachmann) did a number of
European views published in Paris between 1839-1848, and made drawings that
were lithographed in Paris up to at least 1853. So far my main reference for
these is a 1930 catalog from the Bibliotheque Nationale, only a handful of
which are expanded upon in their online catalogue.

He also produced a series "Panorama of the Seat of War", six views of
sections of the southern US in a panoramic perspective. Several of these
were reprinted.

Do any of you have Bachmann views not listed in Reps VIEWS AND VIEWMAKERS OF
URBAN AMERICA, especially the European views? If anyone wants a specific
list of titles I have references to, you can email me separately.
