Subject: Steel Map

We have a partial copy of the large, two sheet map (really more like a
hydrographic chart) Steel's "New and Correct Chart of the Island of
Newfoundland, 1817." We would like to locate a complete copy either to
purchase, or failing that, from which to obtain a reproduction. The
British Library has the earlier version, published in 1800, but will not
loan or reproduce it. It would also be interesting to know if anyone has
that version. The 1817 map is not mentioned by Mario Witt in his volume on
the maps and charts produced by the Steels. I have asked about this map
previously, but thought that it would be worthwhile to ask again, since
none of the major collections appear to have it. Thanks for any help that
you can provide on this search. Complete citation and additional
information will be sent upon request.
