Subject: "Early bird" deadline for conference looms!

Tomorrow, March 15, 2005 is the established deadline for registering for
the "Map and Geographic Information Collections in Transition"
conference at the $100 rate. All registration forms and checks received
OR postmarked by tomorrow's date will be included at the lower rate;
starting March 16th the registration rate goes to $125. There are still
many seats available for the conference so don't hesitate to act. One
may register by going to the following CUAC website page:
http://cuac.wustl.edu/cuac.htm where on the right side of the page you
will note a list of links under the heading "Conference Announcement."
This includes a conference announcement/agenda (to be updated with the
very latest information regarding speakers by the end of this week), a
link to the registration form (don't forget to put a checkmark in the
box next to the question about attending the IFLA preconference workshop
on May 11th if you plan to attend it as well!), and a link to a list of
local hotels that should prove useful as well. Please note that there is
NO separate registration fee for the IFLA workshop, we are simply using
the registration form as one way of finding out how many good folks want
to also take in this event.

Please join over 100 of your colleagues from Canada, the U.S., Great
Britain (and hopefully other places) at the:

Map and Geographic Information Collections in Transition
A Joint Conference Sponsored by the
Library of Congress, Geography & Map Division
and the Cartographic Users Advisory Council
         Library of Congress
             May 12-13, 2005

and come learn about what is happening with geospatial data of all kinds
and how we may influence the future contributions, access, and
dissemination of this data through many means.

For the Cartographic Users Advisory Council,

Paige Andrew
Member of CUAC, 2002-2005

P.S. Once we hit the overall total registration limit of 150 individuals
I will begin keeping a waiting list in case other seats become available
at the last minute.
