Subject: Exploratory Question for Libraries w/ Aerial Photography
Date: Mon, 9 Feb 2004 10:41:14 -0700
From: Ryan Morgan, Aerials Express <[log in to unmask]>

------------------
Here at Aerials Express we specialize in up to date digital aerial
photography that many organizations in Real Estate, Engineering, Education,
and even Homeland Security use within their GISs for all of the reasons one
would want current photography for. I recently saw a post on this list
announcing the new digital archive in Georgia with scanned photography from
the 1930s through the 1980s available online and got to thinking... Would
anyone like their archive scanned, as we do here, and orthorectified to the
USGS DOQQs (a process we use to ensure positional accuracy?) The end result
would be a seamless layer one could open up in a program like ArcView,
MapInfo, or even our own viewer called AEView... People could create data
from the photography, project existing GIS data onto it, even compare the
lay of the land over the years, etc. We have a $160,000 Zeis scanner, and
all of the production equipment needed to undergo such a task if someone had
a budget to pay for the service. Any takers? If you're curious about what
I mean when I say seamless orthorectified photography, let me know I can
send you a sample CD of our current stuff to try out.

Let me know,
